The article concerns the modalities of use by the literature of contemporary French of cities and the use which the sociolinguists can make of this type of sources for the construction of a corpus of linguistic practices of cities. The question is how to take into account the forms proposed in these works and if it is necessary to place them on the same plan as the forms collected in natural context and extra in the oral corpuses. At first, we shall try to show on which conditions these works can be considered sources for the sociolinguistics and in which limits. Thus we shall put the question to know if a sociolinguistics of the text is possible. Secondly, the article will make the hypothesis from the study of an extract of corpus, stemming from the narrative of Magyd Cherfi, My Gaul's part (2016) which such a source requires to be arrested with other criteria that those of the sociolinguistics strictly speaking and that it requires to cross steps and diverse methodologies, necessary for the understanding of the multilingual identities and the otherness which is embodied in these linguistic practices.
