"Proeliari" et quelques constructions à verbe support en "proelium" : recherche diachronique sur les contextes d’emploi

Abstract : In this paper we study the semantic distinctions between the denominal verb proeliārī and the support verb constructions involving proelium. Despite similar morpho-semantic features, we venture the hypothesis that these two verbal items are not strictly equivalent and have their own linguistic specificities. The scope of this work is to determine the linguistic configurations explaining the use of the denominal verb or of the support verb construction. After determining the linguistic features that allow to identify a verb phrase as a support verb construction, we describe the use contexts within a diachronic corpus that runs from archaic authors to late Latin texts (Vulgate and the first Church Fathers).
